In this post, we announce the intention to integrate our token (ZTG) on Basilisk DEX.

**About Zeitgeist**

Zeitgeist is a decentralized protocol for Prediction Markets and Futarchy. Through these, we seek to provide a set of tools so that any individual can create markets, interact with them or simply consume the information they generate, in order to robustly predict uncertain future events.


**What is a Prediction Market (PM)?**

Prediction markets are forums where contracts are traded that generate payouts based on the outcome of uncertain future events. Over the years, empirical evidence has emerged indicating that prediction markets are the best way to aggregate the opinion of the masses and, consequently, it is considered one of the best methods of predicting future results.

There is also the possibility of creating a form of governance based on PMs: this is Futarchy.


**What applications do Prediction Markets have?**

The spectrum of applications of this forecasting tool is very wide since it can be used to predict any future event whose outcome is not entirely clear. For practical purposes, I am going to detail some potential uses for web3 projects:

- Asset floor price forecasting (fungible and non-fungible)
- Optimization of the granting process for growth purposes (growth can be focused on any aspect that is measurable: users, revenue, volume traded, etc.)
- PMs can also be used to optimize decision-making in protocols by adopting this technology in governance organisms.


**Constitution of our integration with Basilisk**

At Zeitgeist, we want our protocol to be used by as many users as possible, and for this, we need to make our ZTG token accessible to a large number of people. In view of this, we wish to publish our token to Basilisk, so every user can access our token in a decentralized way.

We have a Genesis supply of 100M tokens distributed in this way:

We will have a 5% inflation rate, purely generated through staking.
